About QCMP
Quaker City Motorsports Park, located in Salem, Ohio near the Pennsylvania border, is a historic and evolving destination for motorsports enthusiasts throughout the Midwest. Since 1957, QCMP has been a cornerstone of Ohio drag racing and continues to grow as a multi-discipline motorsports venue.
The park was founded by Dick and Vivian Mossey, who set out to bring local drag racing opportunities to Northeast Ohio. Their efforts filled a growing need in the community, and Quaker City quickly became a prominent name in the national drag racing scene. The track has hosted countless major events like the Night of Fire, Nostalgia Classic, and Great Pumpkin Race, and welcomed legends such as Don Stratton and Frances “Krutch” Crider.
In 2011, local businessman Norm Fox purchased QCMP and, alongside his son and general manager A.J. Fox, invested heavily in its renovation. Improvements included repaving the drag strip, installing concrete safety walls, and upgrading all major facilities to elevate the track to modern professional standards. Today, QCMP is one of the top drag strips in the region, drawing racers and fans from across Ohio, Pennsylvania, and beyond.
Building on its rich legacy, Quaker City Motorsports Park recently expanded with the addition of a state-of-the-art karting track. This 1-mile long, 28-foot wide circuit offers arrive-and-drive kart rentals, owner kart racing, national-level karting events, and additional disciplines like autocross and mini moto. With multiple layout configurations and a focus on accessibility, the kart track broadens QCMP’s appeal and cements its status as Ohio’s ultimate motorsports hub.
